SafeTrip is dedicated to the health and safety of our customers. As such, we restrict coverage in certain countries. These lists change based on global events and emergencies. This information is current as of March 11, 2026. Check back any time for an updated list.

Restricted destinations for SafeTrip travel insurance plans

We cannot offer any travel protection or international medical coverage for trips to the following countries:

  • Afghanistan

  • Antarctica

  • Cuba

  • Dominican Republic

  • Iran

  • Iraq

  • Libya

  • Nepal

  • North Korea

  • Somalia

  • South Sudan

  • Sudan

  • Syria

Countries with evacuation restrictions

Due to ongoing security concerns and evacuation orders, we do not offer security evacuation coverage for any trips to the following locations:

  • Afghanistan

  • Azerbaijan (Nagorno-Karabakh, Aran, Sheki-Zagatala, Ganga-Gazakh, and Kalbajar-Lachin regions)

  • Bahrain

  • Bangladesh

  • Belarus

  • Cyprus

  • Central African Republic

  • Chad

  • Cuba

  • Democratic Republic of Congo

  • Egypt

  • Eritrea

  • Ethiopia

  • Haiti

  • India (Kashmir region only)

  • Iran

  • Iraq

  • Israel

  • Jordan

  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

  • Lebanon

  • Libya

  • Mozambique

  • Myanmar

  • Niger

  • North Korea

  • Oman

  • Palestinian territories

  • Russia (central region)

  • Places the U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 4 Do Not Travel advisory

Resident country restrictions

Unfortunately, we cannot offer SafeTrip plans to residents of the following countries, regardless of their destination:
